Carlos Silva Jr. - Sports Journalist
Lived in El Paso, Texas for 24 years, a majority were spent around sports.
Currently, I'm the Wreckem247 Editor at the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal, where I cover Texas Tech recruiting, football, basketball, baseball and other things.
Graduated with a degree in Communication - emphasis in Print Media - from the University of Texas at El Paso. I have a full understanding of the newsroom environment thanks to my previous internships at the Tallahassee Democract, Houston Chronicle and The El Paso Times, and work experience at the Silver City Sun-News and the Odessa American.
I have been immersed in the fast-paced newsroom environment for the last several years and believe I am able to multi-task and produce well-written articles for print and online.
I have covered prep sports, NCAA Athletics and professional sports. In addition to covering sports through print, I have also worked extensively with social media networks, podcasts, blogs and video, connecting better with fans and readers.
